Ranges south to Algoa Bay (Ref. 3970). Large specimens have been taken in Natal waters (Ref. 3970). Most angling catches are made at night, from the beaches of Zululand (Ref. 12484). Angling record: 8.61 kg; spearfishing record: 4.6 kg (Ref. 12484).
